September

CHAIRMAN’S COLUMN:

I know I am not the only one to say where has the time gone? I am sure the rest of the year will go just as quickly, especially with everything planned within your own Wis and at federation level.

Once again, our Ladies of Lincolnshire Lunches have proved very popular, with the Burgh le Marsh date selling out very early on. This gives me the perfect opportunity to remind you to book your place on any event you would like to attend as soon as possible so you are not disappointed.

You can book as an individual and do not have to wait for your WI secretary to do it – but please remember, your place won’t be confirmed until payment is made.

How is the knitting going? Thank you to everyone who has already pledged to take part in the ‘Viking Way’ knit/crochet. Just to remind you, there is no definitive scarf, just do your own thing – any wool or length – but remember to log your scarf length on the dedicated email address: lincsvikingscarf@gmail.com

We have had quite a number logging their lengths, but the biggest knit to date is Pam Stratford from Tetford & District WI who has single-handedly covered a distance of over 41-feet.

Now, an apology. The WI News has recently featured a flower quiz. This was a ‘recycled’ item from sometime ago and one of the questions and its answer should not have been included. It slipped through the proofing net and we apologise for any offence caused.

Finally, please take note of the general meeting notice at the bottom of this page. This is a formality for the adoption of the revised federation constitution, as you will remember was done via Zoom for the WI and National constitutions back in March.

Take care. Dianne
Chairman of Lincolnshire North Federation of WIs
