Chairman’s Chat
Hello everyone
I hope you have been able to enjoy some of the good weather we have been having. As I write this, there is rain in the air, but hopefully the sun will return soon.
The real sunshine in my life over the past few weeks has been the opportunity to welcome Bailgate WI into the Federation. Having signed up more than 20 members at their formation meeting, more members have joined at their May meeting. They have lots of extra activities planned, so it will be great to see what they get up to.
As you will see on page 5, we are in our showtime period. Thanks go to everyone who makes these events happen and to all members who willingly step forward to help and bake cakes to sell. It really is appreciated. As you know, these events bring a welcome income to the federation, which means more activities can be provided for everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy.
We are also preparing to head to London for the National Annual Meeting on June 5. I hope everyone has contacted their delegate to let them know how you want them to vote. It seems there is a lot of support for this resolution, but it is always interesting to hear the debate at the national meeting, as sometimes it can really make you think.
